This item is well-crafted. The latch, lid, and hinges are all a good fit.It is made of thin, rigid plastic. The straps are painted with black/gold to give it an antique look. If handled with care it is a nice product. Kids would likely stress the hinges if this were to be used for play, I think the hinges would eventually break as the plastic is not super sturdy. It is not action-figure quality. The siding would likely crack or fracture with impact.The clear sides are nice, because you can fill it with cool little bits of things, and see the contents from any angle. You can also but panels or pictures inside, to give the chest a customized look. As example, you can cut some popsicle stick-planks, stain them, and put them inside to give it a classic wood look. You could print a wood-grain design and cut to fit.
